FeedBrewer Dreams Local

We're excited to announce a partnership with Dream Local, a digital services agency run by longtime media entrepreneur and FeedBrewer advisor Stanley Gauss. We will be working in conjunction with Dream Local to give local media companies comprehensive solutions for growing audience and revenue.

We like Dream Local because, like us, they have an innate understanding of the disruption being faced by companies, non-profits and local media organizations and the increasing need for them to adapt. The social Web has irrevocably changed publishing and news gathering. Sites like AOL’s Patch are quickly gaining prominence in neighborhoods across the United States. Content-focused organizations can no longer afford to be locked into proprietary content management systems that take months or years to respond to these tectonic changes. Flexibility and the ability to quickly pivot are more important than ever.

That's where we come in. Through FeedBrewer Consulting, we're already helping companies like The Bakersfield Californian build new products and experiences on top of the open-source Drupal platform. With Drupal, new competitive features can be added as "modules" in days or weeks (versus months or years) without changing back-end systems.

We will be creating custom modules and configurations to Dream Local customers who are ready to move to an open platform like Drupal. Dream Local also has some innovative products of its own, such as Local Habit, a location-based social networking tool that connects people in local communities. We hope to be able to provide these tools to our customers along with our own.

Dream Local will also package our services, such as the soon to be launched BookBrewer, into their offerings. Finally, we plan to offer our customers competitively-priced managed hosting on cloud-based services, such as Rackspace Cloud and Amazon SE2.
